Bobuck, Rose and the Hartleys, growing tired of life in the south, all headed for northern California. After staying in San Francisco for several months, the trio ended up in San Mateo, where they decided to remain, living and working in near-total seclusion.

  • Harumi releases "Hunters of Heaven" it would later be sampled by The Residents on their 1972 track Explosion.
  • 15th: The Beatles release "Lady Madonna" The Residents sample it played backwards on their 1977 track "Beyond the Valley of a Day In The Life"

  • 26th: The Beatles release "Hey Jude", The Residents would go on to cover the song in 1975 for their Third Reich N Roll Album.
