- 19th: Leonard Cohen's Dress Rehearsal Rag is released. The Residents would later reference the song in The Ghost Snake.

- The Group who would become The Residents finish recording The Warner Brothers album and submit it to W.B for consideration. It was ultimately returned with a rejection slip. Due to there being no name on the album, it was addressed simply to "The Residents" out of respect for the industry, the group named themselves Residents. Uninc.
August[]
- Margaret Smyke introduces Residents. Uninc to her friend from England, Phillip Lithman.
- Residents. Uninc begins to record their second demo for Warner Brothers, B.S.

- Fred Frith meets Chris Cutler.
October[]
- 18th: Residents. Uninc, along with Snakefinger, N. Senada and Peggy Honeydew, makes their live debut at The Boarding House. They're very well received by the audience.
- A recording of this event was released on Daydream B Liver in 1991.
- 30th: Snakefinger & N. Senada are interviewed by local radio station, KHSC-FM, they perform a track alongside The Residents known as "Cantaten Un Symptomen For Der Saxofoonen Un Violine."

- 31st: Residents. Uninc perform at the wedding between Snakefinger & Miss Deborah Keadle.

- Residents. Uninc submits their second demo album for Warner Bros, once again to no avail. I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony) is released.
