- The Residents record a jam session with Barry Schwam (aka Schwump), later compiled into a tape entitled German Slide Music.
August[]
- The Residents record basic tracks for "Whoopy Snorp".[1]
September[]
- 11th: The Residents record an untitled track later listed as "Crumbling Mountain Sketch".[1]
October[]
- The Residents do further work on their upcoming third album, and the recordings produced in these sessions are edited into "Hitler was a Vegetarian", the second half of their Third Reich 'n' Roll album.
- They record three unrelated songs, "Godsong", "Melon Collie Lassie" and "Monstrous Intro".
November[]
- 1st: The Residents record a track called "Ow Bout That".[1]
- The Residents receive an ARP Odyssey as a gift from the future Cryptic Corporation.
