The Residents' BOGcast was a podcast, originally presented by The Residents through their official news blog (or BOG) between August 2005 and April 2006. The BOGcast was hosted by Cryptic intern Sparky, and featured news, music and interviews from The Residents and their collaborators.
The first four episodes of the BOGcast were centred around specific projects from the late 1990s to the (then) present, whereas most episodes for the remainder of the series consisted of interviews with collaborators and associates of the group. These episodes were accessible either through iTunes or as downloadable files from a Blogspot page.
The BOGcast informally started up again in 2008; however, instead of being presented as episodes in downloadable audio files, this version of the BOGcast was presented as a live streaming radio station, which debuted on Christmas 2008 in a BOGcast which ran for at least a few hours. Another live BOGcast followed on New Years Eve and continued into New Years Day 2009, running a total of 34 and a half hours in duration. Both of these live BOGcasts contained a sizeable selection of rarities from The Residents' archives.[1]
While they were removed from the group's website many years ago, all 23 episodes of the 2005-2006 BOGcast are available for streaming and download on the Internet Archive.
