"Baby Skeletons and Dogs" is a seven-part suite by the group who would later become known as The Residents, featured on their long-unreleased 1971 demo tape The W***** B*** Album.

The song is one of the better known pieces from the tape; its first official public release in any version was a RMX version, featured on the 2004 album WB:RMX. In 2012 it was rehearsed for the Talking Light tour, but not included in the set list of the show.

In 2013 an edited version of the original recording was released on the compilation album The Delta Nudes' Greatest Hiss; the full suite was released as part of the remastered and pREServed edition of The W***** B*** Album on Record Store Day in April 2018.

History[]

Featured on the group's 1971 demo tape The W***** B*** Album, "Baby Skeletons and Dogs" would not officially be released by The Residents in anything resembling its original version until 2013, when it was included on the compilation album The Delta Nudes' Greatest Hiss.

Despite not being available officially at the time, a radically remixed version of "Baby Skeletons and Dogs" was created by The Cryptic Corporation and included on the album WB:RMX in 2004. A second, alternative remix of the track (labelled the "2004 remix") was included with the Euro Ralph limited, numbered vinyl edition on a bonus 7" single.

A 2011 EYEFUL download of a Talking Light tour rehearsal included "Baby Skeletons and Dogs", indicating that the song was considered for the tour, but eventually not included in the set list.

The complete, original mix of the "Baby Skeletons and Dogs" suite was remastered and released officially on The W***** B*** Album pREServed limited vinyl edition on Record Store Day 2018. It was reissued in November 2019 as part of the pREServed compilation A Nickle If Your Dick's This Big.
