The Residents' Bad Day on the Midway: The Official Strategy Guide is an official companion book to The Residents' 1995 CD-ROM game Bad Day on the Midway, written by Jeff Sengstack and edited by Michael Koch. It was published in December 1995 by Prima Publishing.
According to the author, the publisher "pulled out all the stops" for the book. Originally planned to be 148 pages in black and white, it was expanded to 160 pages prior to publication, with two-color printing throughout.
The book contains a 48 page full-color walkthrough of the game, character biographies and tips for players, a short story expanding on events from the game, development sketches by designer Jim Ludtke, commentary from Ludtke and Iain Lamb, as well as a summary of The Residents' history and philosophy and a full-color poster of the Midway and its characters, designed by Ludtke.
