"Cankered Lightness" is a single by The Darkening Scale, which was self-released in 2007 as a CD-R with no accompanying artwork. The single might not have been an actual commercial release, and may in fact contain an unfinished mix not intended to be heard by the wider public.
The song was later released on the 2010 album Hydrogen Kaleidoscope; it is not known currently if the album version differs from the version featured on the (now very rare) CD-R single.
