Since 2017, Cherry Red Records have operated a mailing list for fans of The Residents, through which subscribers receive sporadic newsletters featuring news about The Residents, recent and upcoming releases (particularly the ongoing pREServed series of expanded album reissues), and occasionally, exclusive free MP3 downloads.

The newsletter began informally in January 2017;[1] early subscribers were sent a link to download the exclusive track "Doors". In December of that year, the group released their single "Santa Dog 17" for free in an issue of the newsletter.
