The Residents' Classic Vinyl Series Box Set is a limited edition wooden box set containing first pressings of the first ten studio albums by The Residents, which was sold via PledgeMusic as a pledge reward for I Am A Resident! campaign contributors who pledged $2500 USD. The campaign was first announced in September 2017, and ten of the box sets were made available exclusively via the PledgeMusic page.[1]
The front of the box featured an intricate, hand-burned design by woodburning artist Dustin Edwards. The group released a video on YouTube showing fast-motion footage of Edwards creating one of the boxes on October 20th 2017.[1]
At least two of the Classic Vinyl Series boxes were purchased,[2] and were shipped to contributors at the end of the campaign, likely around May 2018. Contributors who purchased the boxes also received an AccessPass and the chance to submit a cover of a Residents song for use on the I Am A Resident! album.
