"Explosion" is an instrumental by The Delta Nudes (also known as Residents, Uninc.), from the 1972 EP Santa Dog. Its title is often erroneously swapped with its adjacent track "Lightning" on several releases, including its most recent appearance on the 2018 pREServed edition of Meet The Residents.
The track's ending features an uncredited sample of "Hunters of Heaven", recorded by Japanese artist Harumi in 1968.
History[]
The track is credited to The Delta Nudes, a pseudonym which would, many years later, be retroactively adopted as the group name for all material recorded by The Residents prior to their official formation in 1974.
