"Farmers" is the 4th track on The Residents' Diskomo / Goosebump, released by Ralph Records on April 11th 1980. like all other songs from the Diskomo / Goosebump b-side, it is made using toy instruments from toys R us then touched up by The Residents afterwards.[1][2] To follow The Residents' childlike concept for the album, all the songs reference pre-existing nursery rhymes. "Farmers" specifically references the rhymes "Old MacDonald had a farm", "Mary had a little lamb", "Three Blind Mice", "Pop Goes the Weasel", and "Ten Little Indians".
History[]
This song sadly has very little history. The song was recorded between January and February 1980 and like every other song from "Goosebump" was made with snakefinger as "Co-lead artist". [3]
Legacy[]
Although this song has not be revisited on its own, goosebump has been reissued a few times with the most notable cases being "Diskomo 2000" and "Eskimo pREServed." Along with Twinkle The Residents added this song to their compilation album "Hell!".
