Film Noir - American Style is a 1984 various artists compilation album collecting electronic music that invokes the atmosphere of Film Noir. The Residents' track Edweena is featured, albeit in an edited form.
Background[]
The album is divided up into two halves, American Contributions, and European Contributions. It was released in march of 1984. A majority of the tracks were recorded for the compilation, minus Edweena and Morning Was Cold, which were recorded in 1974 and 1982 respectively.
Film Noir is a follow up to the 1983 compilation album, Turkish Delight.
