"GBM(i)" is a digital single by The Residents, featuring instrumental selections from the group's 1994 album Gingerbread Man. All of the album's tracks are represented, except for "The Old Solider."
It was released on the group's Robot Selling Device on August 12th 2011. The 20 minute piece was also featured as a bonus track on the 2016 reprint of Gingerbread Man. A 36 minute long instrumental version of the album was included as a bonus track on Gingerbread Man pREServed in 2021.
Background[]
GBM(I) was released on to the Robot Selling Device digital store on August 12th, 2011. A similar release, RZ VF, which compiled an instrumental version of The Residents' 2001 Vileness Fats re-score into a single track, was released the following day. The releases were virtually unannounced until two days later, when both releases were promoted on The Residents' Facebook page.

Release Notes[]
The Residents recorded The Gingerbread Man in 1995. It was an interactive CDROM project. By typing away on a computer keyboard one could create "music videos" to go along with the music. It was also released as a normal, though short, CD. So here the powers of RSD have managed it make it even shorter. But here you will find 20 minutes of delicious instrumental music with no lyrical content to get in your way. The Gingerbread Man Instrumental
