George Ewart (ca. 1941-1942 - May 14th 2011) was an American teacher, amateur photographer and "jazz aficionado" who,[1] from 1972 to 1976, appeared as Omega, one half of the conjoined twin tag-team wrestling team Arf and Omega Berry (alongside Palmer Eiland as his brother Arf) in The Residents' unfinished feature film Vileness Fats, and the film's musical number "Aircraft Damage", featured on the group's debut EP Santa Dog in 1972.

The reasoning behind Arf and Omega being conjoined at the shoulder was apparently to make use of the fact that Ewart had only one arm.[2] Ewart's last known appearance with The Residents was on stage with the group (alongside Eiland as Arf and Omega) at their first official live show, Oh Mummy! Oh Daddy! in Berkeley, California in June 1976.

Ewart spent his later years as a teacher in Redding, California, often pursuing amateur photography (one of his "life's passions") and also hosting a Sunday jazz program on Jefferson Public Radio for a number of years. He died May 14th 2011 at the age of 67, when, returning from a friend's memorial service, his car "slipped off the road and struck a tree" outside Redding. He is survived by his wife Martha and daughter Zea.[1]

In November 2015, a copy of the Santa Dog EP which was given to Ewart (and signed "To Arf and/or Omega" by Homer Flynn) was put for sale on the website Popsike by a German seller, who had purchased it from one of Ewart's relatives some years prior. It sold within days, with the final bid coming in at €1,660 (or $1,856 USD).[3]
