Ibbur is a soundtrack album by Hardy Fox, related to his novella "The Stone", which was serialized in the Hacienda Bridge email newsletter between March and October 2017.

Originally announced in January 2017,[1] Ibbur was repeatedly delayed for unspecified reasons, ultimately seeing release on March 12th 2022 on Klanggalerie, more than three years after Fox's death from brain cancer in October 2018.

It is the third posthumous release of Fox's solo material under his own name, and fourth posthumous Fox release overall (including the Bob Uck and the Family Truck compilation Oddities 2013-2015).

History[]

First announced by Hardy Fox as an upcoming release in January 2017,[1] and then (after Fox's death in 2018) scheduled for release in Spring 2020, Ibbur was delayed by the following January and replaced on Klanggalerie's upcoming release roster with another posthumous Fox release, Killing Time.

Described as a "soundtrack album", Ibbur is related to Fox's novella "The Stone", which was serialized in the Hacienda Bridge email newsletter between March and October 2017. The final instalment of "The Stone" became notorious among Residents fans for revealing that the composer and keyboardist (and former member of The Residents) hitherto known as Charles Bobuck was, in reality, Fox himself. The Bobuck persona was permanently retired by Fox after the conclusion of the novella.
