Icky Flix Live is a concert DVD by The Residents, documenting the second leg of their 2001 Icky Flix tour. The DVD was a limited item, with only 850 copies released.
History[]
The concert was filmed on March 30th 2001 at The Experience Music Project in Seattle, Washington. The tour was designed to promote The Residents' latest DVD release, Icky Flix, and featured a "greatest hits" style set list, with the group performing tracks from nine of the albums released throughout their 27 year career, from The Third Reich 'n Roll (1976) to Wormwood (1998).
By this point, The Residents had already created several feature-length concert videos, and wanted to try experimenting with the format; with this in mind, Icky Flix Live was filmed entirely by camera operators positioned within the audience, with no edits made, even during the show's brief intermission and encore.
Two excerpts from this show, "Constantinople" and "Burn Baby Burn", had previously appeared on the Kettles of Fish On the Outskirts of Town box set DVD in 2003.
