"Kaw-Liga" is a 1986 single by The Residents featuring two tracks from their American Composer Series album Stars & Hank Forever, released in two versions in 1986 by Ralph Records in the US and Torso in the Netherlands.
History[]
Both side a and side b from this single are covers from The Residents' then upcoming album Stars & Hank Forever. It was announced in the April 1986 Buy Or Die Catalogue.
In the US the single's B-Side was Stars & Stripes Forever, but in Holland, the B-Side was an edited version of Jambalaya. This was one the first ever promotional singles by The Residents, released three months before the album on which both songs were intended.

Release History[]
The single was released on April 2nd, 1986[1] in anticipation of The Residents next album, Stars & Hank Forever by Ralph Records. The Ralph version, released in the USA, features Stars & Stripes Forever as the B-Side. Shortly after this, a picture disc version of the single was released by Ralph, initially limited to 28 copies with a black ridge. A pressing featuring a red ridge limited to 1,972 copies released soon after.
On December 5th, dutch label Torso, who had recently obtained the rights to release Residents material in Holland, released the Kaw-Liga single with alternative artwork, and Jambalaya as the B-Side. It was distributed by Engima records.[2]
In 1998 both tracks from the US single were placed together on the Japanese compilation, 25 Years of Eyeball Excellence.
