Killing Time is a posthumous album by Hardy Fox, released April 16th 2020 on Klanggalerie.
It is the second posthumous release of Fox solo material, following the mini-album 25 Minus Minutes in 2019. It contains material recorded by Fox in the last two years of his life.
History[]
The album was among several recordings Hardy Fox submitted to Klanggalerie label owner Walter Robotka prior to Fox's death from brain cancer in October 2018.
The album's catalogue number gg329 was originally attributed to the as yet unreleased Hardy Fox soundtrack album Ibbur, which was originally scheduled for release in Spring of 2020.[1] By January 2021, the release had been replaced on the label's roster of upcoming releases with Killing Time for unexplained reasons.[2]
Killing Time is also the title of the first album by the band Massacre, featuring occasional Fox/Residents collaborator Fred Frith. The track "Traveling Music" was previously heard at the conclusion of Fox's final recording 25 Minus Minutes. "Killing Time" and "Blues" had previously appeared as the first and third parts (respectively) of the Charles Bobuck and Joey R album Wallpaper in 2017.

Release notes[]
Hardy Fox was the primary composer of The Residents. He created an incredible body of work, using all kinds of names other than The Residents, amongst them Combo De Mecanico, Sonidos De La Noche, Dead Eye Dick, Charles Bobuck or Black Tar And The Cry Babies.
Hardy first stopped touring with The Residents due to health issues. Soon afterwards, he left the group completely to concentrate on his solo work. After several albums as Charles Bobuck (later only Bobuck), the name given to him when still a member of The Residents, he later dropped all pseudonyms to work as Hardy Fox.
His first self-titled solo recording was an album full of minimal love songs, a portrait of the young Hardy Fox. The second, Nachtzug was about his last days touring with The Residents. It was followed by Rilla Contemplates Love, a concept album about the thoughts and feelings of a gorilla. A week before his death, Hardy recorded the very touching farewell recording to his fans, 25 Minus Minutes.
During the last months of his life, Hardy submitted several recordings to be released after his death. Killing Time is one of them.
