Missing Soldiers - The Favorite Songs of Clara Barton is an album by Charles Bobuck, first self-released on Bobuck's Bandcamp page on April 12th 2015. Later re-released on Klanggalerie in a limited edition of 300 copies on December 7th 2016 as part of the TOOK series.

These MIDI arrangements started out in 2001 as sketches for a proposed album based on The American Civil War by The Residents. The rather un-sexy project did not get encouragement from European partners because the war meant little outside of the United States and is most prominently a part of history in the deep South. The project was abandoned.

History[]

Clara Barton (December 25, 1821 - April 12, 1912) was the founder of The American Red Cross. She was a prominent nurse during the American Civil War working on the front lines in close proximity to several battles.

At a time when few women worked outside the home, Clara Barton devoted herself to the humanitarian needs of the country. After the Civil War she ran the office of Missing Soldiers and helped locate 21,000 missing soldiers. She launched the American Red Cross in 1881.

Missing Soldiers presumes to include Charles Bobuck's renditions of Barton's favorite songs.
