"Mourning the Undead" is an instrumental by The Residents, the 9th track on their album The Tunes of Two Cities (the second part of the group's epic Mole Trilogy), released by Ralph Records on March 6th 1982.
Background[]
"Mourning the Undead", like many other artworks associated with The Residents, is shrouded in mystery. With every song being up to interpretation to the only thing known for certain is that this song is about the Moles Mourning the undead. This song follows the same format of being very raw and tribal compared to the big-band style of the Chubs. The mole trilogy went infamously wrong leading to many songs from this album being rarely revisited.
