Remember when I said the God in Three Persons pREServed set was due in early August? Well, hot dog the time has come and that blessed event happens this week. Check out your retailer of choice on Friday, August 9th.
But the present is so yesterday, right? What's coming in the future? Well, you'll be happy to know that the most recent Cherry Red newsletter announced two new pREServed releases. The first is a compilation of the recent Record Store Day releases, The W***** B*** Album and B.S., along with additional live material and related pieces. For anyone who couldn't secure one of the RSD titles, or just doesn't understand vinyl, this is a godsend.
And the granddaddy of them all, Not Available, is finally getting a pREServed release. I bet you thought they had forgotten about it. Actually, they probably did - that's kind of the point. But now we all can get our hands on this material and try - just try - to forget it. It will probably seep into your soul and/or rewrite your DNA.
Add those to the already mentioned American Composers and CUBE-E sets, and you've got yourself a helluva good time.

Psychofon to Release Dyin' Dog Singles[]

On September 28th, Psychofon will release a special box set of 7" singles from... Alvin Snow?
Oh, maybe you've heard him referred to as Dyin' Dog.
Or maybe you've not heard of him at all. But you will, because his recently uncovered recordings will be the basis of an upcoming Residents project. While we wait for that, Psychofon will be putting out 7" records of the original songs. This will give you a few months to become familiar with them before The Residents unleash their own interpretations.
