New Pressing of Live Snakefinger Vinyl[]

Newsmachine-SnakeyMelbourne

Saturday, February 2 2019, 7:31pm

Secret Records is making a new pressing of their live Snakefinger release, this time on magenta vinyl. So if you missed out on it earlier, here's your chance to get it.

Snakefinger is best known for his guitar work on The Residents 13th Anniversary Tour and multiple studio albums as well as his own solo albums released on Ralph Records between 1979 and 1987. Live In Melbourne 1981 features an often forgot about time when he had just begun playing live, often under the name "Snakefinger and The Dead Residents" or "Snakefinger and Bast". Songs from his 1979 and 1980 LPs (Chewing Hides The Sound and Greener Postures) are played here as revved up punk songs that crush the studio versions.

Available now, exclusively from Klanggalerie, is "25 Minus Minutes." This is Hardy Fox's swansong, in the form of an audio diary recorded one week before his passing. Hardy's birthday would be next month, so this release may fit very well into whatever celebration you may already have planned.

From September 5, 2008 through March 28, 2009, The Residents on behalf of their good friend Bunny, answered between 1500-2000 emails responding to Bunny's plea for help finding his missing brother Harvey. The Bunny emails have now been collected and edited in a book titled The Bunny Emails. The book will be sold as part of an art installation recreating the Bunny Room at The Transpalette in Bourges (France), produced by Bandits-Mages. Opening on April 20, 2019. An advance sale of the book is now available through the European crowd funding site Ulule.
