News Roundup[]
Friday, May 7 2021, 8:54am
A quick catch-up on some recent and upcoming items:
Klanggalerie has recently released two previously download-only titles on CD: Morning Music and El Año Del Muerto.
In November, Klanggalerie is set to release The Wonder of Weird Demos so clear your calendar to take in that treat.
But that's a long way away, so on June 12th there will be a special "RSD Drops" release of a new compilation entitled Leftovers Again!?! which includes, among other things, an eight-minute concentrate of the Rusty Coathangers For The Doctor tape.
The biggest news is that the Dog Stab! tour has been pushed back another few months. Various venues have been announcing their new dates, and we've updated our tour page sporadically, but as of today it's really close to being finalized (there seems to be a straggler or two), so it deserves a mention on the News Machine. It's really important to note some venue changes: the Phoenix show is now in Tucson, the three San Francisco shows are going to be collapsed into one, and another Santa Cruz show will be added. More info on the tour page as we get details.
And finally, the deadline for submissions to the new I AM A RESIDENT project - Constantinople 2021 - is this Monday, May 10th. Read the description on this YouTube video for details, and do us all proud.
DUCK STAB IS ALIVE![]
Monday, May 10 2021, 8:43pm
In celebration of Night Flight's 40th Anniversary, as well as their own upcoming 50th, The Residents are thrilled to announce DUCK STAB! ALIVE!, a re-imagining of the group's iconic 1970s album. Directed by celebrated video artist John Sanborn, DUCK STAB! ALIVE! will be a contemporary, "live-in-the-studio" interpretation of the band's classic sound. The program, scheduled to begin streaming on Night Flight Plus June 5, 2021, also serves as a prelude to The Residents' 50th Anniversary tour beginning in August of this year.
