The Residents' feature film Triple Trouble will have its California premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival, screening at The Roxie Theater on Saturday, October 15th at 7pm. Two days prior on the 13th THEY'LL showcase music from the upcoming 50th Anniversary tour Faceless Forever, with a special live performance at the legendary non-profit music venue Sweetwater Music Hall in downtown Mill Valley.
Come celebrate 50 years of oddity and improbability with a night of fan favorites and a few unexpected surprises. Tickets for the film screening are available now to certain festival attendees, and will be available to the general public (along with the concert performance) on Tuesday, September 13th.

First up, and available now from Klanggalerie, is So Long Sam (1945-2006). This is a CD release of the performance at the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive on June 4th 2010, which featured a small string orchestra. The second disc contains demos, some of which had been released before, but many have not.

Next up: if you've been curious about that new movie Triple Trouble (for info visit 3xtrouble.com), or even if you've had a chance to see it, you might be saying to yourself, "yeah, moving pictures are all right, but what about the SOUNDS?!" We've got you covered with the soundtrack album, hitting stores on November 18th. Here are some purchase links:

But maybe you want SOUND and PICTURES in one convenient package! Psychofon Records to the rescue, with a wickedly delicious zoetrope picture disc. It simply must be seen to be believed.
Preorders at Psychofon start on October first. The official start of Spooky Season!

And last but not least... for anyone who missed out on the wonderful limited edition releases of yesteryear... a good number of them have quietly appeared in the digital marketplace. We're talking High Horses, D*ck S*ab 35th Anniversary, Ten Two Times, Talking Light Live in Rehearsal: Santa Cruz, Assorted Secrets... heck, even the Huddled Masses box set! And many more. Last week I found like 30 titles that have been releasing the past few months. A couple have landed on Amazon but it looks like Apple Music is the vanguard. You can even grab a digital copy of this year's Record Store Day release.
Happy ears to all.
