Meet The Residents Wiki

Obey Consume is an album claimed by Hardy Fox to have been recorded by Black Tar and the Cry Babies, in his April Fools Day 2017 Hacienda Bridge newsletter.

History[]

In his Hacienda Bridge newsletter dated April 1st 2017, Hardy Fox listed a number of previously unknown albums by the Residents off-shoot project Black Tar and the Cry Babies (which had previously released the 2015 EP Season Of The Witch).

Obey Consume was one of these listed recordings, although as with the other supposed "albums", little is known about it other than it features the track "Fourteen", which was one of a number of Black Tar tracks released with the newsletter.

Notes by Hardy Fox[]

"A darkly humorous satire of capitalist culture. Though, ironically, it contains some of the most popular music that Tar has ever recorded.

"Obey Consume" has the ability to make one shake his booty even though cringing. That doesn't stop it from being the best party album Tar has ever recorded."[1]
