Penn & Teller (Penn Jillette and Teller) are American magicians, entertainers, and scientific skeptics who have performed together since 1975. Their act combines elements of comedy with magic. Jillette serves as the act's orator; Teller generally does not speak in interviews or while performing, and instead communicates through mime and nonverbals, though his voice can occasionally be heard during their live shows and television appearances.
Besides magic, the duo have become associated with the advocacy of scientific skepticism and libertarianism, particularly through their television show Penn & Teller: Bullshit!, which aired on Showtime between 2003 and 2010. In 1989 they appeared as the leads in a feature film, Penn & Teller Get Killed. The duo has been featured in numerous stage and television shows such as Penn & Teller: Fool Us, and currently perform in Las Vegas at The Rio, the longest running headliners to play at the same hotel in Las Vegas history.
Penn & Teller have occasionally been associated with The Residents, resulting from Jillette's long-running friendship with the group. Aside from Jillette's many separate appearances in Residents and Ralph Records productions, Penn & Teller appeared on-stage at the final show of The Residents' 13th Anniversary tour in January 1987, and hosted the VHS documentary The Eyes Scream: A History of The Residents in 1991.
