RMX is an album by The Residents, collecting various remixes previously released as digital throughout 2006. The album was first released through the iTunes store on October 19th for a limited amount of time, before finding a more permanent home on The Residents' RSD store in 2009, and being given a physical release through Klanggalerie.
Background[]
The third and final part of the 'RMX' trilogy, 'RMX', is a collection of the RMX singles released through The Residents' MySpace page throughout 2006. Unlike the first two RMX albums, which focused on re-arranging the group's earlier albums which had perhaps aged less gracefully than they hoped, this album reworks classic hits from the group's history.
The album was initially released through The Residents' iTunes page without any fanfare, and was only officially announced in January of 2007.[1] Two years later the album was released through their RSD page, and then in 2018 it was released on CD through Klanggalerie.
The track 'Baby Skeletons & Dogs' is from the bonus 12" included with the WB:RMX album, and the bonus track 'Golden Goat' is from the 2003 DVD of the same name.
