Recommended Records Sampler is a sampler double album by Recommended Records, who distributed Ralph Records LP's in the 1970s and 80s.
Background[]
The album features Walter Westinghouse on the second disc, from the Babyfingers EP, recently at the time re-released by the WEIRD fan club. It is given the recording date of November 1976 - January 1977, but was likely recorded entirely in November, as it is an outtake from Fingerprince, which wrapped up recording that month.
Residents collaborator Fred Frith is featured on three of the albums tracks, All Hail, Slice & Viva Pa Ubu. Chris Cutler edited the album, designed the cover, and appears on the same tracks as Frith. Faust, who The Residents would later remix, also appear.
