Richard Anderson[1][2][3] is a project manager with Cherry Red Records, who has assisted The Residents with their releases on the label since 2017,[3] when Cherry Red purchased a 25% share in The Cryptic Corporation from Hardy Fox upon his retirement from the group.
Anderson, a fan of The Residents prior to their association with Cherry Red, is known for assisting the group with the organization of their archive and the compilation of their ongoing pREServed series of reissues, and also for his frequent interactions with fans on social media (formerly under the name Richard Cherry Red, now as Richard Ra),[3] where he has sometimes revealed previously unknown information about The Residents' upcoming and recent releases, as well as their history and back catalog.
Homer Flynn, president and co-owner of The Cryptic Corporation, has said that Anderson's presence at Cherry Red has been "a real stroke of luck", and that he "brings a huge amount of care to the product".[2] Many of The Residents' releases on Cherry Red have featured the credit "enabled by R.A.", though The Residents themselves have apparently denied any knowledge of the meaning of these initials.[3]
