"Seasoned Greetings" is a composition by The Residents, it is the last track of the penultimate track on The Residents' debut album Meet The Residents, released April 1st 1974 on Ralph Records.

History[]

Seasoned Greetings is probably most well known for being another dive into The Residents, specifically Residents, Uninc. love for Christmas. The songs only lyrics are a Resident simply wishing their family a merry Christmas.

A new arrangement of the song was demoed in 2014 by the group's long-time composer Charles Bobuck for a planned (but abandoned) 40th anniversary re-recording of Meet The Residents; this recording was later issued on the EP Clank Clank Clank in 2017. In 2017, Homer Flynn asked The Residents to make a top 40 list of their own music (Not to be confused with "The Commercial Album"). This song was chosen for the list.

Very interestingly the song was revisited by the hot sauce brand "El Enojado" announced in November 2020 that they would be releasing a hot sauce called "Seasoned Greetings" to honor The Residents. After The Residents caught wind of this they partnered up and release the hot sauce "Cry for the fire" based after the song of the same name.

Lyrics[]

Merry Christmas, Mom
Merry Christmas, Dad
Merry Christmas, Sis...
I Love You.
Uh, Uhh It's Christmas
But, but there ain't nobody
Raisin' much of a fuss.
Christmas Christmas Christmas
Ain't Nobody
Raisin' no fuss...
Nobody
But
ME!!!
