"Strawberry Fields Forever" is a song by The Beatles, first released in February 1967. The song was written by John Lennon but credited to the Lennon/McCartney songwriting partnership.

It is also the opening track on The W***** B*** Album, a 1971 demo tape by the group who would later become known as The Residents.
The Delta Nudes version[]
The version of "Strawberry Fields Forever" which opens The W***** B*** Album is merely a thirty second fragment, but introduces The Residents' ongoing fascination with deconstructing and parodying the work of The Beatles, the biggest pop group of the 1960s.
This demo was never officially released in its original mix, until when The Residents issued The W***** B*** Album in its entirety on Record Store Day 2018, as a limited edition pREServed vinyl pressing of 1000 copies. It was later included with the rest of The W***** B*** Album on the 2019 compilation A Nickle If Your Dick's This Big.
A very short and heavily effected sample of this version of "Strawberry Fields Forever" opens the 2003 version of "The Mad Sawmill of Copenhagen, Germany" from the remix album WB:RMX.
