Summer Songs is an EP by The Residents, released via the group's official website for a limited time in 2010.

The EP contains three demos recorded for their then-upcoming Lonely Teenager album; new arrangements of "Death In Barstow", "Demons Dance Alone" and "Bach Is Dead".

An alternate version of the EP titled Randy, Chuck and Bob On Tour has also circulated online; this version contains one additional track, "Fence at the Edge of the World''.

History[]

Summer Songs was made available through The Residents' official website for a very short amount of time (similar to the "Summer Tunes" series of MP3s released on the group's blog in June 2008).

It features three new arrangements of well-known tracks from the group's back catalog, "Death In Barstow" from Fingerprince, "Demons Dance Alone" from the album of the same name, and "Bach Is Dead" from Duck Stab!/Buster & Glen.

These tracks were recorded for the Lonely Teenager album, but were ultimately left out of the final track listing. "Demons Dance Alone" is a remix of the demo version previously heard on the two disc special edition of the titular album.

The Summer Songs version of "Bach Is Dead" later appeared on the Robot Selling Device release D*ck S*ab - 35th Anniversary in 2012. "Barstow" and a shorter edit of "Demons Dance Alone" were later reissued on the 2020 compilation Eyeful.
