They have never revealed their true identity. They don't give interviews. They have been in operation for almost forty years.
The Residents, an avant-garde music group from Louisiana, later associated with California (San Mateo, San Francisco) have over sixty albums, pioneering multimedia releases (in the form of CD-ROM), and several short films. On May 5, they will play in the post-industrial space of the Łażnia Nowa theater in Kraków.
They have been recording since the late 1960s, but their official discography opens with the album "Meet the Residents" from 1974. All previous releases, including "Santa Dog" (considered by fans to be the beginning of The Residents' discography), were recorded and composed before the group's name was finalized and The Residents do not consider it part of their discography. This and similar messages about the history and activities of the group are transmitted through The Cryptic Corporation. A team of two responsible for interviews and promotion of the band. Homer Flynn and Hardy W. Fox - representatives of CC - are alleged members of The Residents, but they deny the rumors. They only confirm that Fox is responsible for the production, mastering, and editing of the recordings,
From the beginning, The Residents have been involved in ambitious audiovisual projects. Their performances contain elements of theatrical scenery, choreography, and video projections. The concert in Krakow is related to the promotion of their latest project, "The Talking Light."
