The "REAL" Residents, 2018
The "REAL" Residents (sometimes stylized The "Real" Residents or The Real(?) Residents) is a name ascribed to the line-up of The Residents which debuted in 2017 with the announcement of the live tour In Between Dreams.
The "Real" Residents marked the conclusion of the Randy, Chuck and Bob line-up of the group which had existed from 2010 to 2016; rather than singer Randy Rose, keyboardist Charles Bobuck (or his replacement Rico) and guitarist Lionel Bob, The "REAL" Residents consisted of four members, identified as Tyrone the singer, Eekie the guitarist, Erkie the keyboardist, and Cha Cha the percussionist.
Since the conclusion of In Between Dreams, the "REAL" Residents have not been referenced by the group, indicating a return to their earlier communal identity. Tyrone, however, made an appearance in an interstitial monologue in the 50th Anniversary Secret Show, ruminating on the implications of costumes and paternal love.
