Throughout much of the 21st century, a social media presence has been an essential promotional tool for creative entities. Although initially resistant to the concept, The Residents ultimately embraced this format, beginning with an official MySpace page established in 2006.
In the years since, the group have established and maintained accounts on all of the most popular social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter/X, Tumblr, Instagram and YouTube.
Until 2017, The Residents' social media presence was primarily managed by the residents.com webmaster Big Brother; following Big Brother's retirement, it has been maintained by a number of Cryptic Corporation associates, most notably Mama Ralph.
