"To Sir with Love" is the theme from James Clavell's 1967 film To Sir, with Love. The song was performed by Scottish singer and actress Lulu (who also starred in the film. The song peaked at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, and became the best-selling single of 1967 in the United States. It was covered in The Residents 1976 album "The Third Reich 'N' Roll" on the suite "Swastikas on Parade".
History[]
With this song being part of a suite it does not have a lot of unique history with the group. Like with all other song from this album it is a cover of the 1967 hit "To Sir with Love". The Residents likely heard this song quite a bit as college students. with To Sir, with Love being a hit in 1967 it was an easy choice for their 3rd album The Third Reich 'n Roll. This song has never been performed live by the group as it is cut from all live versions of "Swastikas on Parade". The song was included on "Groovy Greats RDX".
