Twenty-Five Years Of Eyeball Excellence is a Japan only compilation album released in 1998. It contained material spanning The Residents' entire career.
Background[]
The CD was compiled in December of 1997, which had been The Residents' twenty fifth anniversary. However, either due to delays, or some kind of irony, it was actually released on the Residents twenty-sixth anniversary. All tracks on the album were previously released except for the track 'The Gingerbread Man', and newly created edits of Making of A Soul, Good Lovin & Six Things to a Cycle.
For the time Eyeball Excellence was one of the most comprehensive compilations of Residents material, featuring songs from all of the group's major albums (minus Mark of The Mole, The Tunes of Two Cities, George & James & The King & Eye), as well as an impressive selection of materiel from their shorter works such as EPs, Singles, or compilation only songs.
Rest Aria is the edit featured on the 1979 compilation Please Do Not Steal It, Festival of Death is from Buy or Die 1980, Man's World is the 1986 re-recording, Kaw-Liga is the single edit, and God In Three Persons is the instrumental version.
